Snorkels & Trainee Lectures

Liam Staunton2(s).jpgWith Diving Officer Liam Staunton at the helm, the 2008 dive season kicked off with the annual New Year’s Day snorkel in the Grand Canal at Digby Bridge. Fifteen members braved the elements to participate in the first of three mandatory open water snorkels before starting to dive (New trainees require five OW snorkels) Most members retired to Flanagan’s Mill Pub & restaurant for lunch & refreshments afterwards.

Sunday the 6th January was the second of these snorkels with an early 10am start at Sandycove, Dun Laoghaire. Eighteen Naas SAC members took part, completing a snorkel out past the 40 foot & back onto the Sandycove strand. After some fine food in the Purty Kitchen, Dun Laoghaire some members had enough energy left to enjoyed hill walking up the Sugarloaf Mountain near Kilmacanogue.
 
Trainee Lectures
The third set of trainee lectures take place on Sunday 13th January in Lawler's Hotel, Naas, commencing at 2pm sharp. All trainees shoud attend these lectures.
