P.R.O. Report

Well done Jenny, Bernie and I suppose John, the 70's night was wonderful, held in Tougher Saturday 8th October. The ballroom was transformed into a blast from the past.
I was greeted by "ABBA"alias Jenny with eyelashes so long - they defied gravity, our past DO was resplendent in a salmon pink and Dalmatian ensemble, topped with fuzzy wig and groovy sunglasses. Ouch! Even our present D.O.arrived looking like a demure little flower girl, fresh over from San Francisco. There was a rich mixture of frilly shirts, flares and wigs -that was the fellas. Cher made an appearance, but declined tosing.  Hiawatha fell off the trail and was held hostage by some crazed Rastafarian,(who let them in anyway) white boots - legs up to bums and minis(dresses) were prolific on the ladies, purple wigs and dancing the handbags in the middle of the girly group was quite authentic.  Elvis lost a lot of weight but lost his way sometime during the night to several glasses of booze, God help the cows the next day.
One or two of the lads got stuck in a time warp 1770? And as for his little fluffy pussy - adorable or wott?

We thank the Dalkey groupies who arrived in the spirit of the night, running off with a vast portion of our prizes, who paid who, and I think it was her white boots that won her the prize for best dressed female.

In all a good night was had by all, mind you it will be the last time for a while that some of the guys will know what it is to have a full head of hair.

The auction was gripping stuff, was it John or Bernie ,identical outfits made it hard to distinguish, anyway one of them pushed and cajoled the wayward crowd,(probably high onsomething at this stage) into paying maga bucks for treatments, cruises from Blacksod Bay, promised fun and dinner with more plonk thrown in,enough beef for a sizeable  heart attack, a clockwith a diver seducing a mermaid, the purchaser giving it to a child! A smashing picture, the Tate gallery has promised to mend threat, to name but a few items, well done.

Thank you DJ, music was brill, not enough slow smoochie no's for some of the "original 70's" flower children, they were recognizable by their original 70's gear.
The committee would like thank all and every person who attended and contributed to the night,  .......... was raised another night must surely follow sometime in the near future.

Congrats to our new diving officer,Rose, who would appreciate your co-operation and patience - until she gets into the swim of things.

Last but not least, we wish Maire and Barry all the best as they will be hitched by the time you all get this press release - we hope they will have many hours of................diving together!
