About Us
Naas Adult Basic Education is one of three adult literacy schemes run by Co. Kildare V.E.C. It is financed by the Department of Education & Science, through the Adult Literacy and Community Education budget administered by the V.E.C. The scheme is affiliated to the National Adult Literacy Agency (NALA).
Mission Statement
Our aim is to provide all adults with the opportunity to obtain or improve the skills of reading, writing and numeracy, at their own pace, according to their individual needs and in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
Objectives
- To provide a reliable, confidential, non-threatening quality service.
- To provide a personalised learning programme to meet the expressed needs of the individual.
- To develop a user friendly learning climate.
The service is for adults (over 16 years of age) who need help with the basic skills of reading/writing/spelling and numeracy.
