Further delay for Bond Bridge

12 October 2003: The Bond Bridge reconstruction project has been further delayed because Kildare County Council says there's no money to pay for it.

This is despite the completion of the tender process for the €6 million project.

Apparently, only €480,000 has so far been set aside for the project, and any further move must await funding from a planned new development levies scheme.

Levies have been paid by developers towards the scheme for some five years, according to local councillors.
