Following the huge success of Diptych, Magpie Theatre Company are delighted to announce their forthcoming production of Twenty4Seven. Twenty4Seven is the second part of the triptych trilogy which is set in Ballymun.

Seen primarily through the eyes of seventeen year old Lisa and her relationship with her parents and boyfriend, this is a raw unflinching exploration of crime, domestic violence, addiction and imprisonment in one twenty-four hour period. Each performance is followed by a workshop, facilitated in partnership with Mountjoy Prison which explores the themes and issues raised within the play.

Written by award winning and critically acclaimed playwright, Louise Lowe, and directed by Stephanie Dunne (Passion Machine, Olympia Theatre, Barbican Theatre London) Twenty4Seven is performed by a cast of already renowned actors.

Since its inception in March 1996, Magpie theatre in education Company have been committed to presenting plays which explore the darker side of urban culture along with plays which are on the current school curriculum. They have toured nationally and internationally with their critically acclaimed theatre in education programme in partnership with Mountjoy Prison, Dublin. This programme is funded therough the Drugs Task force and Copping-On (National Crime Awareness Initiatives).

Amongst their many productions are: The Day the Music Died, Journey, Begin to End, Faithful Place, The Plough & The Stars, The Playboy of the Western World, and The Hostage.
