Who We Are
Churchtown & Castlemitchell Community Development Association was established in 1994 by members of the local community with an initial aim of preserving the old Churchtown school buildings. In 2001, Castlemitchell Community Hall required management and also became part of the committee's responsibilities. Since then the committee has now five areas of responsibility:
- The Old Churchtown School
- Castlemitchell Community Hall
- The local Churchtown cemetery
- Tubberara medieval Holy Well
- Local community social events
Churchtown & Castlemitchell Community Development Association became a community development group in 1999. All works undertaken by the organisation are developed using community development practices and principles.
Churchtown & Castlemitchell Community Development Association was granted charitable status in 2000.
