They don't blow their horns any more

NY Stock Exchange open for business again.

MANHATTAN, 20 September: by Carl Byrne. Ever since the WTC was hit, there's a strange thing. They don't blow their horns here any more.

That was one thing about New York. They always blew their horns, all the time.

Now everyone's got flags. American flags everywhere. I've got two, an Irish one and an American one, hanging out my window.

I went down Wall St today. More flags. The ones on poles at half-mast.

And everywhere miitary. Never saw the military in the city before. And even in this city of total communication and sitcom location, never so many TV cameras.

I guess things will be normal when I hear the horns again. Whatever normal is from here on.
