Omaha entertainment costs revealed

NAAS 13 January 2003: Naas Town Council paid E6,080 for entertaining visitors from its US twin Omaha when a delegation from the Nebraskan city came to Naas last year.

And an earlier visit by a Naas delegation to Omaha cost the council E5,174, Naas town clerk Declan Kirrane has revealed.

The Omaha costs more than doubled the budgeted twinning allocation by the council for 2002, which ended up at E15,316 instead of E7,618.

Town clerk Declan Kirrane says the balance of the cost was spent on twinning activities with St David's in Wales and Dillingen in Germany.

Naas Town Council has allocated E8,000 for twinning activities in 2003.
