It’s 1936 in Donegal. Young Michael Evans is friendly and enthusiastic, so it’s hard to understand why the locals say he doesn’t fit in. Until we learn that today is the first time he’s ever met his father.

Raised by a passionate mother and several idiosyncratic aunts, Michael’s unconventional living situation gives him a unique curiosity for life.

Me, Michael explores the magic and the intelligence of an imaginative child growing up without a father in 1930s Donegal. By sharing his family story, Michael finds a new strength in dealing with prejudice.

An energetic and charming monologue full of music and dance, Me, Michael re-frames Brian Friel’s Dancing at Lughnasa with all the exuberance and insight of the original.
