The Riverbank presents ‘Fallout’ a new exhibition of work by photographer, Johnny Savage. Savage spent almost two years photographing and developing this series of photographs, shooting in various towns and cities across Ireland, including in his native North Kildare. The resulting eerie and surreal landscapes present a view of a modern Ireland that is still haunted by its past. These photographs visit the all too familiar empty buildings on the edge of town, modern day ruins that have become part of our everyday landscape.

Working in the twilight of dusk and dawn, Savage uses reflections to create complex and layered images. These photographs explore the illusion of wealth and certainty created by the property boom, while giving quiet consideration to what remains in the wake of the Celtic Tiger.
