By now most people will have heard of The Gathering 2013. The Gathering is an exciting year-long celebration of Ireland, its people and all that is great about its connections, both at home and abroad. The Gathering Ireland invites anyone who has a link to Ireland or just loves the country, to come to Ireland for a series of events throughout 2013.
Over the past two years the Maynooth 10k Challenge has established itself as one of the premier 10k events in Ireland. In 2011 the event attracted over 700 runners, joggers and walkers to the historic town of Maynooth. This year’s 10K will be the centre piece of a Gathering Weekend running from Friday 17th – Sunday 19th May. The weekend will feature a range of events including a welcome reception on Friday night, an exhibition of old photographs from the school archives and from local collectors, guided walking tours of St Patrick’s College, Maynooth Castle and Carton House, visits to a working far, musical and food events.  The 10K will be held on Sunday morning followed by a Gathering on Sunday afternoon.
