Strong British challenge for Irish Cesarewitch

This Sunday, October 12, at The Curragh

British based trainer Brian Ellison will attempt to land the Irish Cesarewitch for the second consecutive year when he saddles both Zaidiyn and Zeus Magic in the 100,000 euro contest taking place at the Curragh this Sunday.   The strong overseas trained challenge also includes Blue Surf and Hassle.   

The home trained team features the Aidan O’Brien trained Marchese Marconi, who was runner up in last year’s race, while he also has El Salvador among the 21 entries.  Ted Veale, trained by Tony Martin, the Dermot Weld trained pair of Hidden Universe and Grecian Tiger, Clondaw Warrior trained by Willie Mullins and Eye of the Tiger trained by Johnny Murtagh are other notable runners.

Jeanne Girl, Run The Red Light and Together Forever feature among the 10 runners in the Staffordstown Stud Stakes, while Viztoria, Russian Soul and Ruwaiyan trained in Britain by James Tate catch the eye among the 11 entries in the Go Racing in Kildare Waterford Testimonial Stakes.

Certerach, Inis Meain, Tarana and Second Step trained by Luca Cumani in Britain are among the 17 entries in the Listed Finale Stakes

The first race is at 1.35pm. Adult Admission: 15 euros. Under 25s and Seniors: 8 euros. Under 16s Free
