Carole Nash Classic Live set for busiest ever event

Busiest track schedule ever planned for this weekend's unique event.

This weekend's 2014 Carole Nash Classic Car & Motorcycle Live at Mondello Park, will certainly live up to its name, with the busiest track schedule ever planned for this unique event.

Classic Car & Motorcycle Live takes place on Sunday June 22nd with the backing of market leading, specialist Insurance broker, Carole Nash and is one of the most anticipated Classic Shows on the calendar. This year's show will feature three separate Classic Car Racing series alongside Classic Motorcycle Racing and the centrepiece of the track action, a demonstration run by the ex Jackie Stewart 1967 Lola Indianapolis car, which is normally housed in the Mondello Park Museum of Motorsport

The feature display within the static section of the show will be a gathering of Irish manufactured or assembled road and race cars and the cars on display will also take to the track for a parade, so that show visitors can view them in motion.

Car & Motorcycle Racing have always been a part of this event, which mixes a traditional Classic Car Show with live track action, and this year there will be a new addition to the timetable as Future Classics will join the HRCA Historic cars and Pre '55 cars in providing the four wheeled sport. Future Classics is a relatively new championship to Mondello Park and is populated by cars which fit in nicely with the current interest in Retro Cars, which should make it very popular with the show audience.

On two wheels, the Dunboyne Motor Club will once again look after a large gathering of Classic Motorcycles, both Road and Racing, with the racers having the chance to display their skills during the three scheduled races. The Dunboyne Club members will also take part in their own, more sedate, club parade.

Of all the track activity the highlight for many show visitors will be the first ever running in Ireland of Jackie Stewart's 1967 Indianapolis 500 Lola T92. This car has great historical significance as one of the first rear engined race cars to run at the Indy 500 and was part of the British invasion of the brickyard, which spelled the end for the previously dominant front engined American roadsters. We are indebted to Mondello Park owner Martin Birrane for allowing this car to be run at Classic Live.

Spectators looking for a break from the track action will find lots to see and do within the Mondello Park paddock. Our long term show supporter Irish Vintage Scene will once again be on hand with a display of their cover cars as will the IVVCC who always have some of the best of Ireland's Classics on display. The remainder of the paddock will be filled by Classic cars, displayed by owners clubs and individuals from all over the country, feature cars and the trade and auto-jumble area.

All Classic Car & Motorcycle owners are welcome , whether as spectators or exhibitors, with owners of Irish built or assembled cars particularly welcome. Trade and display spaces are still available and all exhibitor enquiries should be directed to Mondello Park on 045-860200. Further information, including how to get tickets to the event can be found at www.mondellopark.ie/classic.
