Quality line-up for TRM Silver Stakes, Curragh on Sunday

19 entries for the Listed race on 8th June.

URSA MAJOR is one of 19 entries for the featured Listed TRM Silver Stakes at the Curragh next Sunday, 8th June. The Johnny Murtagh-trained five-year-old has not been seen in action since finishing a very creditable fourth behind Encke in the 2012 Doncaster St Leger prior to which he landed a Group Three race and two well contested handicaps at this venue.

Champion trainer Aidan O’Brien has entered four horses, including the fast improving three-year-old Table Rock which landed his maiden here last month before following up in impressive style at Naas on Bank Holiday Monday. Also among the entries are Jim Bolger’s trio of Parish Hall, Einsteins Folly and Sun On The Run, while Dermot Weld is represented by both Tahaany and Nonchalant. The latter looked a very nice colt in the making when landing a Cork maiden in April on his racecourse debut.

Willie McCreery intends running both Indigo Lady and Mindy in the 10 furlong contest. “The intention is to run both of them although Mindy has an entry in the Savel Beg stakes at Leopardstown on Friday,” commented McCreery. “We will see how that race boils down before making a final decision, but both horses are in great form and ready for a run. Indigo Lady loves good fast ground and I would imagine she will get her conditions at the Curragh on Sunday.”

The Andy Oliver-trained Abby Cadabby goes in search of a four-timer when she lines up in the competitive TRM 25 Years Equine Nutrition EBF Fillies Handicap. The race has attracted an entry of 19 which includes the Aidan O’Brien-trained pair of Dance With Another and Just Gorgeous, David Wachman’s Circling and Dalkova which is trained by Johnny Murtagh.

The first of eight races at the Curragh on Sunday commences at 2.05pm and the ground is currently Good on the round track and Good To Yielding on the straight course.
