HR Dept Co. Kildare and South Dublin celebrates first year in business

Preventing People Problems...

The HR  Dept County Kildare and South Dublin has just celebrated its first  successful  year in business, providing practical employment law advice and support to  small and medium sized businesses in the local area.

Since  starting the business under The HR Dept brand, Eamonn Gibney has built up  a varied  client base to help business owners prevent people problems and focus on  the  day to day running of the business.

The HR  Dept helps local businesses access the levels of expertise and practical  support usually reserved for large organisations with in-house HR  professionals. Local HR professionals are on call to provide a full range  of  local support including an advice line to deal with day to day personnel  queries and tailored one to one advice on issues ranging from employment  contracts and handbooks, HR policies and procedures, employment law advice  to  disciplinary and grievance issues. The HR Dept acts as the HR department  for  SME employers.

Eamonn  says: “Working within The HR Dept network and being the  first  Irish office has been fantastic.

“My proudest moment happened recently when  I helped a  company to win a disability discrimination case. It had the potential to  cost  the employer €200k and close them down. I was involved in the  management of the  case from the start and we did everything right.”The  encouraging first year comes at a time where businesses of all sizes are  facing  a tough economic plight. Already burdened employers are plagued by ever  changing legislation which has kept The HR Dept busy.

“Most  small and medium sized businesses don’t need a full time HR  presence,” says  Eamonn. “However, they do need support with dealing with HR issues  that arise  when employing either their first member of staff or their  100th. It  is rewarding to see employers taking a proactive approach to dealing with  their  workforce and in light of the economic situation, teams of staff are  coming  together more than ever.”

Eamonn  and his team work with a wide range of industries  from a cleaners to a childcare, from haulage to hospitality, both small  and  large companies ranging from two to 1,100 employees, providing a local and  personal service that works with and understands local employers and their  organisations.
