Celebrating Athy's Biodiversity

Discover the unique habitats of our local plants and animals

Athy Tidy Towns, in association with Athy Town Council and Kildare's Outdoor Tourism Project, invite everyone to celebrate our local biodiversity on these long some evenings...  

Here's two forthcoming events: 

SUNDAY, 7th JULY- 2pm- BARROW QUAY, ATHY
Guided walk with biodiversity expert, Pascal Sweeney. All are welcome. Pascal is Director at Sweeney Consultancy (Cork) 

THURSDAY, 22nd AUGUST- 10.30am - ATHY LIBRARY 'Biodiversity - Our Natural Heritage', as part of National Heritage Week. 

Join Rediscovery Centre staff to discover the natural world around us. Young attendees (Under 12 Years) will be encouraged to look at human impacts on biodiversity and discuss how to make changes to ensure sustainability of our natural environment. 

Activities include exploring the food web, building your own ecosystem, making bird feeders and bird houses.
