Activities

The course runs over five days, from 10.00 in the morning until 14:00 in the afternoon.
The children will be grouped according to age.
The groups will have four activity classes in the morning, with a small snack break at 11:00.
Lunch is from 12:30 – 13:00, with games and juggling.
Story time follows lunch. The groups join together during the afternoon class to prepare their theatre piece.


Activities offered include :

 

PAINTING

PaintingChildren will be invited to look at some of the major 20th century art movements in a fun and imaginative way, and asked to imitate the styles used by those artists. They will also paint pictures in response to music or different emotions.







DRAWING
Using a variety of media, the children will try drawing many things from life, including portraits, self-portraits and still lives of their favourite everyday objects. They will concentrate on both form and detail. Materials used will include pencil, and chalk and charcoal.










PAPER CRAFTS
Children will make forms using the traditional Japanese art of origami. They will also learn some useful gift ideas here, such as how to make their own greeting cards or presentation boxes.














WIRE SCULPTING

Children will create different forms from wire, which can be mounted as a finished piece in themselves, decorated with beads or used as a base for textured fabric and plaster.

DRAMA (SHADOW PLAY)

The shadow play will be the highlight of the Friday’s exhibition. The children will create their own shadow characters and use them to
present a short story in the shadow theatre.

PERCUSSION

Percussion instruments will be around all week to help with the story telling, and all the children will get the chance to play.

GAMES, STORIES, JUGGLING, FACE PAINTING AND MORE!

There will be plenty of opportunity for fun and games including organized tournaments and team games. The children will have the opportunity to learn some circus juggling tricks such as poi juggling and diablo juggling.Games
