Creative Places Athy Grants, Commission and Residency Opportunities 2023

Creative Place Athy is funded by the Arts Council of Ireland and Kildare County Council. Creative Places Athy aims to support the existing arts & cultural strengths in Athy to support artistic work with individuals, artists/creatives, communities and strengthen existing local contemporary & traditional arts practices.

Kildare County Council have just published a call out for three Creative Places Athy opportunities in 2023.

  1. A new grant informed by the Made of Athy music trail project invites applications that connect art making to a sense of place and identity for Athy and the Municipal District. This is a rolling grant application process with three dates for submission of application June 27th, September 5th with a final date of November 14th 2023. It is open to artists, creative practitioners and cultural producers at any stage of their career, with awards from €500 to €4,000. Applications from those whose first language is not English are welcome.
  1. The second opportunity is seeking expressions of interests from artists/creative practitioners to work with Athy Access group, Creative Places Athy and other stakeholders is delivering innovative solutions towards accessibility awareness and provision in Athy town for presentation at International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3rd December 2023. This opportunity of €15,000 is part-funded and supported by Kildare County Access Network. This opportunity is now open with a deadline of Tuesday 23rd May 2023.
  1. With a total fund of €22,000, expressions of interest are sought from artists/creative practitioners/collectives for a 10-month residency opportunity to work with the communities living in the Woodstock area of Athy to produce a body of work that responds to the people and place and that creates a vision for the future. This opportunity is part-funded by Slaintécare Healthy Communities and Kildare County Leader Partnership Empowering Communities Programme. The deadline for submission of an expression of interest in Phase 1 of this application is May 19th, 2023.
