Kildare Arts Service : Creative Places Athy

Creative Places Athy, is a new initiative led by Kildare County Council Arts Service and funded by the Arts Council to develop a programme of works to increase the creative potential of the town and environs. The three-year project will have a strong focus on participatory art.  Socially engaged art/socially engaged art practice/participatory art is about artists/practitioners and communities working meaningfully together over a sustained period of time on projects, exploring common goals and interests.

Creative Places Athy will allow people to challenge themselves through making art. It is place specific and will enable the people of the town and surrounds to think about how socially engaged art can benefit them and their locality. Read the press releases further down this page to learn more about opportunities to get involved.

If you have an idea that you would like to discuss please feel free to get in touch with Eilish Langton, Creative Places Athy Coordinator: elangton@kildarecoco.ie / 0876334736.

Creative Places Athy is a Kildare County Council Arts Service programme supported by The Arts Council / An Comhairle Ealaíon.
