Naas Youth - An Introduction to Politics

Thu 20 May 2004
Timmy believes that Irish children should be introduced to politics in school so that they are enabled to play their part as fully informed citizens of Ireland. This part of our website is designed as an information tool for Primary School, Secondary School and Third Level students.

Primary School section is aimed at fifth and sixth class pupils as a simple introduction to the Irish political system, and to politics and the work of politicians in general.

Secondary School section is best suited to the requirements of the CSPE syllabus for the Junior Certificate. It should also be of great benefit to students of History at both Junior and Leaving Certificate level, and to any Secondary School students who wish to know more about politics and public life in Ireland. Both of these sections are designed so that they can be printed off, page-by-page, photocopied, and distributed for use in the classroom.
Classroom activities and assessment questions are suggested at the end of each chapter within these two sections. And the text is illustrated throughout with useful photographs of well-know public figures and places.

Third Level section gives comprehensive information about Fine Gael's commitment to young people in Ireland, and about the party's involvement in campuses all over the country. It also includes contact information for third level branches of Young Fine Gael.
