The Town Clerk informed the meeting that a new entrance will be installed in conjunction with the housing development at Caragh Road to ensure a safe access for all persons concerned. more more

Tue 22 Apr 2003 - Heritage Centre in Jigginstown Castle, Industrial sites at Newhall, Consultant Fees
The motion was proposed by Cllr Conway and seconded by Cllr Moore. In proposing the motion Cllr Conway referred to the works which were presently being undertaken at Jigginstown Castle. He stated that the lower portion of the castle was in very good condition and he was seeking the support of the Council to request the Office of the Board of works to develop a Heritage Centre. The Town Clerk stated that the matter would be taken up with the Place Names Commission. The Town Engineer also stated that the Department of the Environment and Local Government and the National Roads Authority would also have to agree in relation to the name on the signs. more more
