Athy Heritage Centre
Athy
is a designated HERITAGE TOWN OF IRELAND and the Heritage Centre focuses
on the history of Athy and the surrounding area.
The
Centre tells the story of the Anglo-Norman town of Athy in County Kildare,
Ireland and uses display panels, artefacts, audio visual and multimedia
presentation to follow the history of the town.
The Centre is situated in the Town Hall which
was built in 1740. The Centre acted as a Fire Station until 1997 when
the Athy Heritage Company transformed it into amagnificent Heritage
Centre.
