Camogie is the female version of hurling. Hurling is unique to Ireland and is one of the fastest field games in the world.
Players use sticks called "hurleys" which are made of ash wood and the ball is called a "sliothar".
A camogie team consists of 15 players which includes a goalkeeper, six defenders, two midfielders and six forwards.
Camogie matches last for 60 minutes, two 30 minute halves.
In 1904 the official launch of camogie took place with the first public match.
In 1934 the All-Ireland Senior Championship was played in Croke Park for the first time.
