Kieran McGeeney is the New Kildare Manager

Kildare at Croke Park

He was ratified for a three year term. He takes over from John Crofton, who resigned in July.

Kieran retired from inter-county football last month. He played a vital role in the success that Armagh enjoyed over the last number of years.

With Armagh he showed leadership, commitment and dedication both on and off the field.

Kieran was captain of the Armagh team that won the 2002 All Ireland Senior Football Championship. They defeated Kerry by 1-12 to 0-14 in front of a crowd of 79,500.

Between 1999 and 2006 Armagh won 6 out of 8 Ulster Championships.
Former Armagh selector Paul Grimley has been named as his assistant.

We wish Kieran all the best in his new position and there is no doubt that he will bring the same drive and determination to Kildare that he has brought to Armagh over the past number of years.
