Heritage Week 2007 will run from 25th August to 2nd September. A range of activities have been organised across the county to coincide with National Heritage week.
Co. Kildare Archaeological Society have organised an illustrated lecture on Gery Abbey (pictured right), Kildare, by Archaeoloist Ms Emer Dennehy, which will take place on 2nd September in the Kildare Shopping Village.
Other events taking place around the county during the week include free guided tours of Maynooth Castle, daily radio talks about Kildare history and heritage on KFM, and an illustrated talk on Leixlip by John Colgan, author of 'Leixlip, Co. Kildare' which will take place in Leixlip Community Library on 30th August.
