Irish Heart Foundation – Walk for Heart Day - Oct 4

Donadea Forest Walk – Sunday October 4 2009

A Walk in aid of the Irish Heart Foundation “Walk for Heart” Day, will take place this Sunday, October 4th at 3pm.  This is an annual event which aims to focus attention on the importance of developing and maintaining a healthy heart. 

Approximately 10,000 people die each year from cardiovascular disease It is the most common cause of death in Ireland, accounting for 36% of all deaths.

Supporting this event, Deputy Michael Fitzpatrick T.D. is asking everyone to come along to Donadea Forest  on Sunday October 4th at 3pm and walk along the wonderful Sli na Slainte route.

“The focus of the day is Walking For Fun, while highlighting how enjoyable it is to be physically active and there is no nicer a place to walk than Donadea Forest Park”, says Michael. 

Please meet at 3pm in the Carpark at the entrance to the Sli na Slainte Route.
