Growth in students applying to Science, Engineering and Computer Science Courses
CAO application figures received by NUI Maynooth this week show that the number of students who nominated NUI Maynooth as their first choice for university has grown for the third year in a row.
While recently launched degrees in Law and Arts, Business and Law, and Product Design remain popular, NUI Maynooth has seen strong growth in the number of students applying to study Science, Computing and Engineering.
Commenting on the figures, Mr. John McGinnity Assistant Registrar said: “We are pleased with the reaction to our science, computing and engineering offerings – a positive sign, given recent industry calls for more graduates in these areas. Coming on the back of the strong growth achieved over the last 2 years, this is continued recognition of the world class academic staff and courses here at NUI Maynooth which are attracting great interest.
He continued: “Our objective at NUI Maynooth is to provide the range and quality of degrees that students want and to ensure they have a great personal experience on campus while studying here with us.”
