History Curriculum Seminar In Naas - Sat 15th Oct

Venue: Naas Community Library

Date: Saturday 15th October Time: 9:30AM - 1PM

As part of the modern revised Leaving Certificate history students have the opportunity to undertake a research study in conjunction with their regular examination accounting for 20% of their total marks. All Leaving Cert. and Fifth Year History Students are invited to a History seminar to help prepare for their special topic.

It is an ideal opportunity for students to learn valuable tips on how to create a successful project with experienced speakers on hand including, a representative from the Dept. of Education, teacher Thomas Nelson and Local Studies Librarian, Mario Corrigan.

This is the sixth such seminar and the emphasis this year is on interaction with a chance for students to ask questions and discuss problems they might encounter in choosing and preparing their topic.

To highlight the importance of the seminar Professor Marian Lyons, Head of the History Dept., NUI Maynooth, will give a special address.

The Seminar is organised by Kildare Library & Arts Services, County Kildare Federation of Local History Groups and Kildare education Centre
