Fianna Fail T.D. for Kildare South, Sean Ó Feargháil, has welcomed a funding boost for playground facilities for The People’s Park in Athy.
“The People’s Park is to receive funding of €33,000 under the Playgrounds Grants Scheme from the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs and the Department of Health.”
“This funding will be used to further enhance the play facilities at the Peoples Park creating more game areas for children and young people.”
“The sort of funding helps to improve and enhance facilities for young families in Athy and is an important investment in the community.”
“Encouraging outdoor play is also important for the health and well-being of young children, helping to keep them fit and develop social skills,” concluded Deputy Ó Fearghail.
