Athy Joint Policing Committee - Have your say!

The next meeting of the Athy Joint Policing Committee will take place on Tuesday, 6th September at 9am in the Town Council Chamber, Rathstewart, Athy. All meetings are open to members of the public. You can have your say by submitting a question or a topic for discussion in writing to the Town Clerk, Athy Town Council on or before 4pm on Friday, 19th August. If you have any other enquiries please contact us using the details above. A Further meeting will take place on Tuesday, 8th November at 9am in Town Council Chamber.

The Athy Joint Policing Committee was established in 2006 (under the Garda Siochana Act 2005 as part of a pilot scheme). The success of the scheme in the initial areas has led to the establishment of further committees on a countrywide basis. The Athy JPC currently has members representing Athy Town Council, Gardai, Oireachtas members and the Community.

In addition, the JPC will host an annual meeting to take place in October (date to be confirmed). Suggestions for this year's theme are currently being invited and will be considered by Steering Committee. The input of local organisations and individuals is particularly welcome at all times.
