Alpha Christian Faith Course - Starts 27th Jan in Athy

With the end of the Celtic tiger many people are asking meaning of life questions.  Does God exist and if He does what is it to do with me? Does He really care?  There is deep pain in many lives.  To have a personal relationship with God through knowing Jesus provides meaning, hope, and the power to deal with the pain issues in all our lives.

To those who know him, Jesus said “You will be filled with power from on high when the Holy Spirit will come upon you and you will be my witnesses” (Acts 1:8).  We need to go on being filled with the Spirit in order to mediate His grace to those in need that we meet.

This is where Alpha is so important for Ireland at this time.  An estimated 6,000 people completed the 300 courses this past year in Ireland – North and South.  It is wonderful to see many lives being changed and communities impacted.  While Alpha was designed for the lapsed/ unchurched, many church members are often revitalised, through attending Alpha eg.  79% of those at the 6 Parish Council Alphas last Autumn said they would now read the Bible more.

10 week Course takes place in the J1 Cafe, Emily square, Athy, beginning Thursday 27th Jan (8.00 - 9.30pm)
