€100,000 funding for Allenwood Community Group

North Kildare Fianna Fail TD, Áine Brady has confirmed that a local community group is to receive a funding boost under the Government’s Community Development Programme.

Funding of €105,562 will go to North West Kildare Community Development Association in Allenwood.

Deputy Brady welcomed the funding, which was sanctioned by her colleague John Curran T.D., Minister of State (with special responsibility for Community Affairs and the National Drugs Strategy) at the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs.

“This funding comes under the Government’s Community Development Programme and will be used by North West Kildare Community Development Association to cover the costs of staff and overhead costs.”

“The Government is committed to supporting local organisations and targeting available resources at the most in need in our communities.”

“I want to take the opportunity to pay tribute to all the organisations that operate so successfully in communities throughout Kildare, making a real and significant contribution to the quality of life of others. Their work is to be commended and I am glad that the Government continues to recognise and support their good work,” concluded Deputy Brady.
