Less than 2 weeks to the Modified Car event of the Year

Mondello Park's annual modified car show is less than two weeks away and with European vehicles joining Japanese cars at the event for the first time, the Mondello Jap-Fest and Eurostyle show is once again set to be Irelands biggest modified car event of the year.

Jap Fest

The show, which takes place on Sunday September 5th, is in its fourth year and has been growing in popularity steadily, aided by the support of event partners 'Modified Motors' magazine. The unique blend of track action and static displays are the key to the shows popularity and this year will be no different with the Pro-Drift Irish Series Final, Irish Time-Attack Championship, Drag Racing, Track Day sessions and Irelands first ever Gymkhana demonstration providing a full day of track activity. The event will introduce a Japanese versus European element for the first time with the two car cultures going head to head in the Drag Sprint and Show 'N' Shine competitions, which will be judged and supported by 'Auto Glym'.

Entries are still open for the Drag Sprint and Show 'N' Shine competitions with European cars being particularly welcome to come along and compete against the usual hordes of Japanese entrants. The Track Day sessions originally scheduled are now full so additional sessions have been added for both Track Day drivers and drifters with the limited number of spaces in each session expected to fill fast.

Car clubs, web sites and forums always make up a large and very popular section of any Mondello Park modified car show line-up and this year the entries are once again flooding in with the opening up of the show to European car fans not previously catered for at Mondello Jap-Fest. Show'N'Shine entries from individuals are also being accepted and any driver or organisation wishing to display their cars should contact the Mondello Park office in advance to be sure of gaining access to what will be a very full display area. A large trade stand area is also a big attraction to show visitors and despite the current economic climate this area of the show already has a stronger line-up than in previous years.

Tickets for the event are currently on sale at discounted prices through the Mondello Pa! rk web site or directly from the Mondello Park office. The advanced prices are €15 for adults (normally €20), €5 for under sixteen's (normally €10) and €5 for grandstand seats (required for adults and under sixteen's wanting to avail of guaranteed grandstand seating). A further offer, which will only be available on the day of the show, has also been announced and aims to encourage visitors to travel to the event together. This offer will see four passengers in a single car admitted for the reduced price of €70 (normally €80).
