Sound and Vision: Crash Course in Backstage Theatre

Curtain, Lights, Action - Creating Showbiz Magic

The hush of the crowd, the tension build, lights go up and the sound explodes around the room- it’s the magic of the theatre experience. The audience may not be always aware of it but the stage setting, sound, and lighting for any performance can make or break a show. The power to transform a good show into a great show lies in the hands of the backstage crew and the work that they do.

If you’ve ever wondered what it takes to create the magic and atmosphere at a big performance then the Sound and Vision Workshop, August 4-7th at Riverbank Arts Centre, Newbridge, may be just the thing for you. This four day course will allow you to explore the lighting and sound systems used in professional productions. Throughout this crash course learn how a stage is set up, how to mix live sound and how to design a light show that will create different moods and atmospheres in a show. Participants of this workshop will get a good introduction to working behind the scenes at an event.

Sound and Vision: Crash Course in Backstage Theatre runs from August 4th to 7th at Riverbank Arts Centre, Newbridge. Places are limited. Price €45. Book online at www.riverbank.ie or call 045 448327
