Rhythms of the World take over at Riverbank

On Saturday July 10th people of all ages and experience levels will be banging a drum and learning the rhythms of the world with bodhran player Robbie Harris.

Sorcas Ceol In what will be a highly entertaining afternoon, this interactive workshop will introduce participants to rhythms from all over the world and will teach them to explore their own abilities through a hands- on drumming experience.

Robbie Harris is a bodhrán player and percussionist. Over the years he has performed and recorded with artists such as Bobby McFerrin, Bob Geldof, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Moya Brennan, Brian Kennedy, Damien Dempsey, Finbar Furey, Eileen Ivers, Emer Mayock, Celtic Woman and The High Kings.

Robbie will teach Rhythms from a wide variety of locations including Ireland, Africa, Latin America and Asia as well as a range of ensemble drumming pieces.
 
No experience is needed and anybody, any age can benefit enormously from drumming. Take all the family, gather some friends and have some fun with Rhythms of the World Saturday July 10th at Riverbank Arts Centre, Newbridge. The workshop runs from 2.30pm to 4.30pm, Price €15/€10.
