Naas Musical Society Presents "Carousel"

Naas Musical Society's production for 2008 is the wonderful Rodgers and Hammerstein Classic, "Carousel".

The production will run from Saturday 1st to Saturday 8th March at the Moat Theatre in Naas.

It tells the story of Bigelow, a barker at the Funfair operated by Mrs. Mullin's. Fond of the ladies, he chats up the naive Julie Jordan, much to Mrs. Mullin's dislike; a row ensues and Billy is fired. He takes off with Julie and the two fall in love.

"Carousel" tells the story of Billy's struggle to find a job and descent into a life of crime and Julie's struggle to bring their daughter up alone. The comedy element of Carousel is portrayed in the Characters Mr and Mrs Snow and their brood of children. The show is full of well known and loved tunes like "June is Busting Out All Over", "If I Loved You" and of course the very famous Liverpool anthem, "You'll Never Walk Alone".

The talented, award winning, Mona Conroy is back at the helm as Director, with Graham Walsh debuting as Musical Director, and after a break of two years, Evelyn Donnelly returns to get all those left feet moving as Choreographer.

Last year tickets for the society's annual offering sold out extremely quickly and there were many left disappointed not to get to see "Hello Dolly", which won five Volkswagen/AIMS nominations and successfully took home four of those awards. So early booking is advisable.
