Japanese Experience Weekend - May Bank Holiday

Japanes Gardens The Irish National Stud Visitor Attraction in Tully, Kildare town will run a Japanese themed weekend over the 5th and 6th of May (May Bank Holiday Weekend).  ‘The Japanese Experience Weekend’ will incorporate many of the colours and flavours of Japan and will feature a range of great activities for all the family. As the weekend also coincides with Japan’s ‘Children’s Day’ (5th of May) there will be lots of free activities for children to enjoy including Japanese Calligraphy, face painting and games.

A variety of hands on workshops and demonstrations will also run over the weekend including Ikebana (Japanese Flower Arranging), Sushi making and hands on Japanese food cookery classes.  The workshops cost from €15 per person and the ticket price also includes entrance into The Irish National Stud, The Horse Museum, The Japanese Gardens and St. Fiachra’s Gardens.  Japanese snacks will be available for visitors to purchase including the traditional snack, Takoyaki which is a popular Japanese dumpling filled with tempura, pickled ginger, green onion and octopus

This is a wonderful time to visit the stud and gardens, the new foals are out in the paddocks with the mares and the gardens become shrouded in a sea of pink as the Cherry Blossom trees come into bloom.
