Altan Play Last Irish Gig of the Year at Riverbank

Over 25 years playing together, Altan have well and truly established themselves as one of the most important and best loved traditional Irish groups in Ireland and on the World stage.

Altan

Now, to celebrate their impressive 25 year career, Altan are set to grace the stage of Riverbank Arts Centre, Newbridge for an intimate show on Friday 24th September.

Described as “The hottest group in the Celtic realm!” (Boston globe), Altan have played their music in top venues across the world; The Sydney Opera House, The Hollywood Bowl, The Royal Albert Hall, and many more. They have played music and recorded with The Chieftains, Dolly Parton Bonnie Raitt, Alison Krauss, Ricky Skaggs to name but a few.

Altan’s new album is a mixture of songs recorded over the last 25 years accompanied by the RTE Concert Orchestra; with Mairead ni Mhaonaigh’s haunting voice and the band’s superb musicianship, this show will testify to the bands unfailing quality over the years.

Having recently played for the thousands of GAA fans at the All Ireland final, this Riverbank Arts Centre show will be the last in Altan’s Irish schedule this year- you won’t want to miss it
