The May Bank Holiday weekend in Mullaghmore, Co. Sligo went very well and without incident. We had 20 x club members diving and a total of 83 x dives completed over the weekend.
The Easter weekend in Annaghvaan, Co. Galway was a very successful weekend with 29 x club members diving and 100 x dives + 5 x snorkels completed over the two days diving. Although we got blown out on the Monday we had 4 x great dives over the Saturday + Sunday with no incidents. It was great to see that many Naas SAC members on the water once again. Everyone seemed to enjoyed the weekend and the accommodation worked out very well as it was convenient and affordable. Annaghvaan might be a location we could frequent again for the first dives of the season with its short boat journeys and sheltered dive sites.
We also had four other dive/snorkel outings over the past month.
1. Slade Harbour 28th of March – 26 x members – 33 x Dives/10 x snorkels
2. Kilmore Quay 11th of April – 13 x Members – 26 x Dives
3. Dun Laoghaire 14th of April – 14 x Members – 14 x Dives
4. Slade Harbour 18th of April – 23 x Members – 39 x Dives/6 x snorkels.
Having sampled the delights of Dublin Bay last week we will start the Wednesday evening diving out of Dun Laoghaire on a weekly basis shortly.
Diving on 3 Mile Rock was excellent on Sunday the 18th of April with 8 – 10Mt viz and the rock teaming with life. The new trainees that were dived up were spoilt with more great diving.
We have completed a total of 302 dives to date which is very good this early in the season.
