This is a two hour performance of rhythmic traditional and modern dance from Egypt, Turkey, Greece, Tunisia, Lebanon, a journey through the East with haunting melodies, its passion, its endlessly moving kaleidoscope of colourful costumes and a chance to explore this unique and mystical ancient art form.

Yasmina, born in France of Eastern origin, has been based in Dublin since 1984 and is the pioneer of this dance form in Ireland. She has performed with U2 on their Zooropa Tour in 1993, with Kila, De Jimbe, and the Greek singer Demis Roussos.

Ana O’Malley-Castellanos is the founder and artistic director of Flamenco Y Mas, the Spanish Dance Company based in Dublin. She is a dancer and choreographer who gives workshops and weekly classes in Dublin city centre.

Ana attained her BFA in Dance at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. She also suited at Ballet Hispanico, New York. Some of her credits include performing with the Philadelphia Civic Ballet, Camerata Opera Theatre, Latin Fiesta and Flamenco Ole, as well as with Flamenco guitarists Carlos Rubio and Juana Martin. Ana has also appeared on RTE and TV3 as well as performing at many Festivals.

The show is produced and choreographed by Yasmina. With the expanding cultural interest in Ireland, Yasmina has been working with her musicians for many years to create her unique style. The dancers, who have been studying Eastern Dance for many years, are chosen from her School and have gained significant stage experience through Yasmina’s regular shows.
