The Moat Club, Naas, is Co. Kildare's most renowned amateur theatre group.
Biography:
Since its beginnings in 1954, The Moat Club have been successful in all aspects of Irish amateur theatre down through the years. Its highlights include All-Ireland Festival Winners (three times), All-Ireland One-Act Festival Winners, RTE Radio Play Winners as well as TV and international productions. In recent years, the Moat has won many individual awards at the All-Ireland Festivals and has always done well in the main competition.
Recent Work:
We have recently finished work on the upgrade to the Moat club theatre with a 3.2 million Euro redevelopment of the main theatre. It opened its doors to the new Moat Theatre on 11th April 2003.
