Recent Work:
In the last year I have been working on a number of pieces, which will reflect my favoured style. A dense and richly textured surface created by manipulating materials (polyfiller/gel) through etching, carving and lively brushwork.
These elements combine with colour washes and muted tones to create a striking balance between abstract expression and control. It is a process of reduction, of isolating the essential ingredients of subject, distilling it down and re-building the image around it. Each it’s own story..
Current Activities:
I am currently preparing for Imagine (The Waterford Arts Festival), which takes place from the 24th October to 02nd November 2008. Ger Kennedy will curate the festival .
Also that same week In Longford at the Backstage Theatre of Arts on 30th October, ZMG joins The Winter Collection will be host to painters and potters..
