The National University of Ireland, Maynooth, in association with Kildare County Council is pleased to announce that details of a certified training course which will be of interest to artists, facilitators and community workers. The course, Certificate in Community Arts for Community Development, is part of an ongoing process by Kildare County Council Library and Arts Service to provide quality accredited training for artists, while developing links with development agencies.
This certificate level course aims to raise awareness on creative ways of working with groups to promote person and local development.

Course Duration
100 hours part-time over 1 year. It is expected that the course will take place over a series of weekends over the academic year, commencing late September 2004.

€ 850, including € 60 booking deposit
Location
The course will take place in a suitable venue in mid Kildare, accessible by public transport.
How do I apply?
Complete an application form and send it to the Arts Service. A deposit of €60 must be included with your application. Cheques and postal orders should be made payable to Kildare County Council.
Deposits will only be returned in the event that your application is unsuccessful or in the event of the course not taking place.

Kildare County Council Arts Service have funded, hosted and facilitated a diverse range of Arts in Education programmes since its inception. The service also offers an information, advice and support service to schools and artists in relation to arts in school.
To further support schools and to raise the profile of local artists and arts organisations, Kildare County Council will produce a resource handbook to every school in the county. The handbook will provide practical guidelines around using artists in school to support arts education as well as a series of essays outlining some of the projects supported by Kildare County Council.
The handbook will be launched in Riverbank on Thursday 30th September.
