As part of their support for artists and arts organisations, Kildare County Council offers quality exhibition spaces in libraries around the county.

A number of libraries have particularly good spaces for exhibitions, namely, Athy, Naas, Rathangan, Newbridge and Celbridge. The exhibition spaces are offered to the community free of charge. Bookings can be made at individual libraries. Specifications of the gallery spaces will soon be available on www.kildare.ie/arts.

Celbridge Library

21st June – 2nd July
A sense of mysticism at Sir Philip Blunden Bart s 5th Annual Art Exhibition - All exhibits are oil paintings and apart from his normal work of landscape, seascape and local scenes, he embarked on this new style just recently with mystic ones of angels and fairies.

5th July- 12th July
First joint exhibition of paintings by Pamela and Mary Curran - a wonderful great variety of landscape and still life in watercolours and oils.

2nd – 9th September
First exhibition of well known artist Adrienne Symes.

Naas Library

July & August
"The Children's Summer Reading Club" (Sponsored by McDonald's of Naas) All children read 12 books and complete 12 book reports or 12 art pieces to be awarded a certificate of achievement & a fantastic goodie bag.

14th – 18th Sept
"Still Lives"
An exhibition of paintings & mixed media artwork by Kildare Artist Rebekah Carroll. Opening night details available at Naas Community Library.

Athy Library

26th - 30th July
Exhibition of paintings & drawings by mature students from Athy Community College. The exhibition will feature a selection of work from oils and pastels to pen and ink.

5th-12th September
Heritage Week. Contact the library for further details.

Chess Club
Athy Library is in the process of setting up a chess club. If you would like to learn how to play or would be interested in teaching others contact the library. Open to all age groups
