Kildare Children Tzipoura Music Festival

An Archive Page Stamp Kildare County Council in association with the Herbert Lodge Arts Centre will host the Kildare Children Tzipoura Music Festival on Saturday 25th May 2002, at Goffs, Kill, Co. Kildare. The Tzipoura festival will celebrate the work of the music outreach programme that is taking place in 17 primary schools across the county.

Two concerts will be held on 25th May, at 2.30pm and 7.30pm. The concerts will include performances by children who are participating in the outreach programme in chamber, percussion, woodwind, traditional and choral groups. Audience tickets cost € 10 each and are available from the Arts Office.

Kildare County Orchestra

A collaborative concert with the Kildare County Orchestra and the Kildare County Council choir will take place in St. David’s Church, Naas, on the Sunday 26th May at 8.00pm. The Kildare County Council choir was established in 2001 and comprises of members and staff of the local authority. Highlights of the evening will include the Hallelujah Chorus.
Tickets costs € 10 and are available from the Arts Office.

Lunchtime Concert

A lunchtime concert will take place in Council Chambers, St. Mary’s, Naas on Thursday, May 16th from 1.00pm to 2.00pm. The concert will feature a performance by Newbridge based mezzo soprano, Mary Dunne, accompanied by Majella Cahill. The programme for the concert includes Thomas Moore Melodies. Admission is free and all are welcome.

Evening Concert

An evening concert will take place in Celbridge Library on Monday 20th May at 8 p.m. The concert features the contemporary classical sound of Ear. This ensemble of musicians create an unique atmosphere and sound. Check them out on the web at: www.may.ie/academic/music/concert/ear.html
