Music Outreach Programme

An Archive Page StampKildare County Council’s Music Outreach Programme, in association with the Arts Council, Herbert Lodge Arts Centre and the IRMA Trust continues in 2003. As part of the programme, a number of primary schools county wide will participate in a Master Class Series, with one–off workshop/ performances.

 

Holy Child N.S, Naas, Scoil Bhride Milltown, Churchtown N.S. Athy, Convent of Mercy Naas, Allenwood Boys N.S., St. Laurences N.S., Ballytore, St. Brigids N.S., Celbridge, Scoil Phadraig, Clane, Kildangan N.S., Monasterevin, Scoil Bhride Naofa, Kildare Town, St.Joseph’s B.N.S. Kilcock and Scoil San Carlo Senior, Leixlip will participate in workshop/ performances by The Homestead Pickers, Percussion Instruments Around the World and Meet the Composers.

Providing the opportunity for children to perform publicly is another important strand of the Music Outreach programme. Many of the children participating in this initiative The Homestead Pickerslive in rural areas where opportunities to perform are minimal. To this end Kildare County Council is delighted to announce that the 2nd annual Tzipora Children’s Music Festival will take place in Goffs, Kill, on Friday 16th and Saturday 17th May.

The concert on the 16th will feature schools participating in the National Children’s Choir programme, with two concerts on Saturday 17th, showcasing the work of children in Choral work, Percussion, Strings and Woodwind.

A limited number of tickets are available from Kildare County Arts Service @ €10.00.

Kildare County Orchestra

Kildare County Orchestra continue to develop their performance repertoire with two Mid–Summer Gala Concerts in both Athy and Naas on May 31st and June 1st. Venues to be announced.
