KILDARE CHILDREN’S TZIPORA MUSIC FESTIVAL

The second annual Kildare Children’s Tzipora Music Festival, incorporating The National Children’s Choir Kildare Regional Concert, took place in Goffs on Friday 16th and Saturday 17th May 2003.

The Music Festival provides a public platform, which showcases the work of Kildare County Council’s Music Outreach Programme and the National Children’s Choir over the school year. Over 700 primary school children from 23 primary schools around the county participated in three concerts over the two-day festival. The Programme encompassed a broad range of music and song, from chamber, precussion, woodwind, to traditional and choral groups.

The E.S.B. sponsor The National Children's Choir Programme. The E.S.B. were respresented on the night by Public Affairs Manager Mr. Eoin O'Neachtain.

Music FestivalThe Music Outreach programme is part of the ongoing commitment by Kildare County Council in relation to arts development around the county.

KILDARE COUNTY ORCHESTRA

The Kildare County Orchestra continues to extend their repertoire and enhance their profile, nationally and locally, under the baton of Ite O’Donovan.

Kildare County OrchestraSeiko Tsukamoto, a prizewinning International Pianist, performed the Rachmaninov Second Piano Concerto with County Kildare Orchestra at a recent fundraising concert at the Church of the Nativity of Our Lady, Newtown, Kilcock in aid of the Church and the primary schools of Newtown and Tiermohan.

Upcoming performances include the ever popular annual concert in Castletown House, on Sunday 14th September as part of Heritage Week celebrations.
