Leinster Printmaking Studios
Leinster Printmaking Studios have Moved
Minister for Finance, Charlie Mc Creevy formally opened the new Leinster Printmaking Studio building on Monday 9th June in the presence of the Mayor of Kildare, Cllr Jim Reilly. The building (which is located at Marron’s Court, Main Street, Clane, Co. Kildare), boasts fine art printmaking and gallery facilities. The Studio is the only fine art printmaking studio in the Republic to use environmentally friendly printing processes.
Speaking at the opening, Minister Mc Creevy said :
"Kildare should be proud of this fine studio located at the heart of the county. Individual printmakers are drawn from the wider Leinster area. It is refreshing to see new younger and European artists joining the facility, which is a testimony to its reputation. Both Kildare County Council and KELT must be commended for their insight to nurture this facility. The Studio and gallery is a credit to founder members Margaret Becker, Cormac O’Nuallaigan, Brendan Phelan, Michael Peart and Rosemary Sisk."
Kildare County Council and KELT (Kildare Leader Company) have assisted the Studio to procure the new building. The Studio has a membership of over forty artists in the greater Leinster area.
