Oxegen 2009 Battle of the Bands. Finalists announced
Kildare County Council Kildare, in association with MCD, Naas Town Council, X Music and the Late Lounge are delighted to announce the finalists for this years Oxegen 2009 battle of the bands competition.
Both Semi Finals took place in the Late Lounge in the Dew Drop Inn in Kill last Friday and Saturday the 15th and 16th of May. 3 bands from each night were selected to go through to the final on June 19th where two slots on the new band stage at Oxegen will be up for grabs.
The finalists who will battle it out on June 19th in the Late Lounge are:

Colin Scallan
I Phoenix
The J-Walkers
The Resistance
Seven Days
This years finals see a diverse range of musicians and bands coming from all over County Kildare, including, Naas, Kildare town, Castledermot, Prosperous, Kilcullen, Sallins, The Curragh, Leixlip and Celbridge.
Assistant County Arts Officer Eoghan Doyle was at both semi finals “The standard was extremely high on both nights. The atmosphere was electric, and everyone played there socks off to the crowd which was great to see. I can’t wait for the final.”
The two successful musicians / bands from the grand final will receive a slot on the new band stage at Oxegen and a 3 day recording opportunity with Kildare County Council.
Tickets for the Grand Final are €10 and available from the Late Lounge.
