Healthy Ireland Programme 2020

Kildare County Council Healthy Ireland programme 2020 is providing a range of resources and programmes to support local wellbeing to support our citizens to get through the COVID19 crisis

A range of initiatives will be provided across 5 areas

1. Staying Active

2. Keeping Connected

3. Switching Off

4. Eating Well

5. Minding Your Mood

To assist in rolling this out, Kildare County Council now seek proposals from individuals or organisations to deliver online programmes with a public engagement (which may include presentations, lecture, interactive workshops, or other iterations).  It is envisaged that the proposals will be prepared for sharing online by the provider (including recording and editing of online content).

They envisage that a series of bursaries will be awarded in the region of €3,000 - €10,000.  While they are open to all ideas, they are particularly interested in receiving proposals that include

  • Christmas themes 
  • Grow Your Own (fruit and veg)/ gardening
  • Climate Change
  • Being Creative
  • Exploring Heritage on My Doorstep
  • Biodiversity in My Garden Winter and Spring

Closing date for applications is TUESDAY 24TH NOVEMBER 2020, 12:00 noon.

Late applications will not be considered. 

Projects must be completed by 31st March 2021.

Healthy Ireland is a Government-led initiative which aims to create an Irish society where everyone can enjoy good physical and mental health, and where wellbeing is valued and supported at every level of society. Healthy Ireland aims to create an Ireland where health and wellbeing is on everyone's agenda in a meaningful way.  Local authorities across Ireland are assisting with the local roll out of this programme
